Woodstock anniversary gig dropped over money woes

LONDON - The 40th anniversary gig of the famous Woodstock festival may be cancelled this year due to lack of sufficient funds.
According to Us magazine, Michael Lang, one of the four founding members of the legendary festival, has revealed that he has failed to find sponsors to raise an estimate 10million dollars needed for hosting the event.
“Money. No sponsors,” the BBC News quoted Lang as telling Rolling Stone magazine.
The concert was rescheduled in New York’s Climate Week in September after the previous plan to host it at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park during August got cancelled.
The New York show was aimed at coinciding with Climate Week NYC, which will run from 20 to 25 September as part of the international Seal the Deal campaign.
The convention focuses on shaking up governments to sign a climate change pact at a December summit in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Lang said: “It would have been a big boost for the issue.” (ANI)
