The Mystery of Missing SC Governor Mark Sanford

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who created a flutter in the media and political circles few days back with his sudden prolonged disappearance from the office has admitted that he has been having an affair outside his marriage. He clarified that unlike what was reported before on him being on the Appalachian Trail, he was actually vacationing with his Argentinean mistress, whom he knows for the last eight years.

A few days earlier Republican Governor of South Carolina had suddenly vanished from the office on a Thursday and had missed his security drill purposefully. Neither his office nor his wife or children could give any pointers towards the Governor’s whereabouts for several days. Then one of his spokespersons announced that they have contacted the Governor and that he was on the Appalachian Trail.

Now, when the real cause of his disappearance is out in the open, Sanford has apologized to his wife and children, “To Jenny, anybody who has observed her over the last 20 years of my life knows how closely she has stood by my side in campaign , after campaign, , after campaign.”

Mark Sanford claimed that the affair started in an innocent manner and developed into a deeper relationship later on. And about his “vanishing act”, the last week, it was his wife Jenny who had told him to leave the house as she felt she needed to maintain “her dignity”, “self-respect” as well has her “sense of right and wrong”. It has been reported that the woman who Sanford has been having an affair with, has two sons.

Way to go, Mark Sanford! What an example you have set as a republican governor.You have shamed not only your party and the electorate of South Carolina but also your beloved(?) wife and children.
