WASHINGTON - While Kevin Spacey wants to apply for British citizenship, but the high levels of knife crime in the country are making him reconsider his decision.
The Oscar-winning actor has shifted to London after leaving his native U.S. to take charge of the British capital’s Old Vic Theatre.
And although he loves being in UK, the only thing that worries him is crime in the country - especially the string of brutal knife killings, which have claimed the lives of dozens of youngsters across the nation.
“I think crime here (Britain) is shocking and knife crime is shocking and everyone must do what they can to be safe. It is terrible when you read about it, absolutely terrible,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
However, despite his fears over rising crime rates, Spacey can see himself living in the U.K. long-term.
“I love living in London. I can say with all sincerity that London is my home. This is my seventh year in London, fifth season at the Old Vic,” he said.
He added: “I will never renounce being American but there is a part of me that is British now. I may go for dual citizenship, who knows?” (ANI)
