MUMBAI - Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan walked the ramp, exhibiting collections of the designers Karan Johar and Varun Bahl at the HDIL India Couture Week 2010 in Mumbai.

The trio of actors showcased modish traditional Indian and western wear on Thursday.

Shahrukh Khan said the collection was fantastic and likewise were the boys and girls who modelled during the show.

“I told you, this is Karan and Varun suit and the shirt is theirs. I think it was fantastic. It’s very different, I don’t know if I will ever wear it but I think it was wonderful, the girls were very nice and the guys were also fantastic,” said Khan.

Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan were the showstoppers of the evening.

Bollywood celebrities such as Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukherjee were also present on the occasion.

Karan Johar said he was happy to see Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan who extended time to showcase his collection and also to see a good response from the Bollywood fraternity.

“I think the idea is to get people. It’s wonderful and it is amazing of all of them to have come up to attend the show and also Amitabh uncle and Hrithik, who were showstoppers, to extend their time to our collection and us,” said Karan Johar.

“I feel very honoured and I think I could have taken the liberty of asking them because I feel the closeness. So, it’s about like you do something and friends and families come out to support you and that’s what I felt. It’s about really extending yourself and your relationship and that is what pretty much what tonight was about,” he added.

The HDIL India Couture Week commenced on Wednesday.

Several celebrities and fashion divas across the country are expected to be a part of this glamorous weeklong fashion extravaganza.

The five-day-long event will end on Sunday and would showcase the work of eight eminent designers. By Shaikh Sharik (ANI)
