LONDON - Lady Gaga is known for putting a lot of thought into everything she does - from her performances to her over-the-top outfits. Her newly released music video for ‘Born This Way’ is no exception.
The provocative and risque new clip, set in outer space, shows the 24-year-old pop singer giving birth to an unknown being, striping off to her underwear for a dance routine and getting dressed up as a skeleton in a suit, reports the Daily Mail.
The seven-and-a-half minute video begins with Gaga floating in space and explaining via voiceover the premise of the story and its extra terrestrial location on G.O.A.T - A Government Owned Alien Territory.
‘This is the manifesto of mother monster’, she begins as the movie style music video opens with a two minute music less intro.
“As the wombs numbered and the mitosis of the future began, it was perceived that this infamous moment in life is not temporal, it is eternal. and thus began the the beginning of the new race, a race within the race of humanity, a race which bears no prejudice, no judgment, but boundless freedom,” she continues as a holographic split screen shows what appears to be Gaga giving birth.
“But on that same day, as the eternal mother hovered in the multiverse, another more terrifying birth took place: the birth of evil,” she continues as the video shows her in blackness and then shooting a machine gun.
For the rest of the video, Gaga spends most of the time dancing in underwear alongside a group of scantily clad men and women against a completely black backdrop.
The video, released on Monday morning, was directed by fashion and advertising photographer Nick Knight and choreographed by Laurie Ann Gibson. (ANI)
