LONDON - David Williams, known for wearing over-the-top make-up and outfits in ‘Little Britain’ and ‘Come Fly With Me’, has reportedly landed the role of an alien in ‘Doctor Who’.

Walliams, 39, will play the role of a cowardly alien called Gibbis who is said to look like Mole from Wind in the Willows, reports the Telegraph.

An insider said: “They thought Walliams would be perfect for the role of alien Gibbis,” according to The Sun.

“He is well known for his love of using prosthetics to get into character on his comedy shows, so this won’t be much different for him.

“But it will be a lot scarier than the stuff he normally does.”

Walliams said he could not wait to star alongside the Doctor, played by Matt Smith, 28.

“I am a huge fan of Doctor Who and am so looking forward to working with Matt and running up and down some corridors with him,” he said.

Walliams has previously said he would like to play The Doctor himself.

“I think any actor wouldn’t turn that down. I won’t be cast now though because they’re getting younger.” (ANI)
