NEW YORK - Do you avoid buying clothing that requires dry cleaning? Well, you are not alone.

A market research has revealed that most women avoid buying clothing that requires dry cleaning, specific washing or ironing.

According to Mintel, a consumer data analyst, three out of four female shoppers say that they don’t like to purchase clothing that has to be taken to the dry cleaners.

Female consumers aren’t crazy about hand washing garments either - 59 percent of women have no interest in buying items that require the extra dainty washing time.

It’s not like women don’t like delicate fabrics - they just don’t have the time to deal with caring for them.

“Dry clean only or hand wash separately account for one more errand or household chore that busy women simply don’t have time for,” the New York Daily News quoted Kat Fay, senior beauty analyst at Mintel, as saying.

“When you consider the demands of work, family obligations, children and a social life - some women may just find it easier and less time-consuming to purchase an item that doesn’t have specific cleaning instructions,” Fay said.

Of the women polled, 71 percent say they love items that don’t need ironing. (ANI)
