NEW YORK - In her Twitter message since Nov. 26, Lindsay Lohan has revealed her New Year’s resolution - to follow in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi.

The troubled starlet quoted Gandhi known as ‘Father of the Nation’ by Indians in her first Twitter post of the New Year and promises to take it “one step at a time.”

The former political leader who helped India gain independence in the early 1900s.

“Today is the first day of the rest of my life ‘The future depends on what we do in the present.’ -Mahatma Gandhi,” the New York Daily News quoted her as tweeting on Saturday.

“One step at a time,” she added.

Gandhi, who was assassinated in 1948, is famous for undertaking long fasts as a means of purification and protest.

This is the first time Lohan has used the social networking site since allegedly getting into a fight with a former Betty Ford Center employee on Dec. 12. (ANI)
