WASHINGTON - Incarcerated Wesley Snipes’ lawyer has filed a fresh appeal against the star’s three-year prison term for tax evasion.

The lawyer is requesting the officials to free the actor so that he can fight his case in the U.S. Supreme Court.

‘The Blade’ star spent two years fighting his 2008 conviction for failing to file tax returns and recently lost an appeal and a request for a retrial.

He surrendered 9 December 2010 and is currently imprisoned in a minimum-security prison in Pennsylvania.

According to TMZ.com, his attorneys have now, filed new documents in a Florida court asking the U.S. Court of Appeals to change a previous ruling which denied him bail, reports Contactmusic.

The star’s lawyers want the judges at the Supreme Court to decide whether the actor should be granted a new trial following fresh revelations about alleged jury misconduct during his 2008 case. (ANI)
