Woman who slashed Leonardo DiCaprio’s face with bottle jailed for 2yrs

LONDON - The woman who slashed actor Leonardo DiCaprio’s face with a broken beer bottle in 2005 party has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Aretha Wilson, 40, made a plea bargain to avoid being locked up for seven years.

She had lashed out at DiCaprio at a 2005 party held in the Hollywood Hills at the home of Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, film producer Rick Salomon.

Wilson claimed she had mistaken DiCaprio for an ex-boyfriend who had been bad-mouthing her.

The movie hunk needed 17 stitches to his face and ear and has never talked publicly about the incident.

Inception star DiCaprio, 36, did not attend the hearing at the Los Angeles court.

Wilson’s lawyer Freddy Sayegh said she was pleased with the outcome, while a prosecutor said DiCaprio was happy the case had been resolved, reports the Daily Star.

Wilson is only likely to be behind bars for six months having spent a year in a Canadian jail awaiting extradition to the US. (ANI)
