LONDON - Veteran actor Michael Douglas has been put on a weight gain diet after being left weakened by treatment for throat cancer.
The “Wall Street” star, who has reportedly lost almost 140 pounds following the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, has been placed on a rich diet of creamy pasta, organic liver and liquidised chicken, reports contactmusic.com.
“He needs to bulk up. He’s so fragile that doctors are worried he won’t be strong enough to recover from treatment which has left him weak,” said a source.
“The liver and fats help alkalise the body while the chicken is nourishing. It’s all easy to swallow,” the source added.
The 66-year-old actor, who is married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, recently revealed he cannot wait to enjoy a glass of wine when he has beaten the disease.
