Demi Lovato’s family blast her dad

NEW YORK - Disney star Demi Lovato’s family has blasted comments reportedly made by her estranged dad blaming Hollywood for her problems, insisting he ‘knows nothing about’ her.

Demi’s family and Disney are outraged after Patrick Lovato, who split with her mom, Dianna, in 1994, was quoted by Radaronline.com saying that the pressure of being a child star “was one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney,” and “it’s just going to happen.”

Now, Pat has been warned by Disney’s lawyers and by Dianna, a former singer and cheerleader, to stop talking.

“No one speaks for Demi except for her designated representatives,” the New York Post quoted Demi’s attorney, Jamie Young as saying.

“Unfortunately, several people have taken it upon themselves to speak out both on and off the record-about a situation they know nothing about,” said the attorney.

A source close to the singer added, “It’s unfortunate he chose to speak out in the media because he hasn’t played a role in Demi’s life for years.”

But Patrick, a former musician and an engineer who’s battling cancer, claimed he was misquoted.

“Demi won’t even talk to me. I don’t blame Disney; I never said that. I was misquoted. Disney has been wonderful to my daughter. Now their lawyers are warning me not to say anything else,” he said.

“I would never blame Dianna. She is a wonderful mother. I love Demi, her sister, Dallas, and Dianna. I think about them all the time and I pray they are OK and safe,” he added. (ANI)
