MELBOURNE - Former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham will no longer be making a visit to Australia for the Melbourne Cup, reason being the price she demanded was too high.

Posh, 36, had got a number of sponsors including Myer, Emirates, Crown and Channel 7 vying for her services to appear at both Derby and Cup days to boost the international profile of one of the world’s great horse races.

According to Confidential, the price for Posh to make an appearance on two days of the carnival had been put at more than 1 million dollars.

But the deal did not go through after racing officials, who confirmed an approach had been made from Beckham’s managers, decided the price was too high.

“She ended up asking for way too much,” the Daily Telegraph quoted a source as saying.

Posh was to have attended the Victoria Derby, the Melbourne Cup on November 2, and the Crown Oaks Club lunch the following day. (ANI)
