LOS ANGELES - Teen sensation Justin Bieber is being probed by police after he allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old boy in Canada.
The incident took place at a laser tag centre in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada Friday. Bieber was kicked out of the centre after the boy told the staff that the “Baby” hitmaker punched him, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that they are probing the incident.
A police official said: “The boy sustained minimal injuries and did not require medical attention.”
He however refused to divulge the details of who exactly was involved in the assault and what happened.
“We are aware of speculations concerning the identity of one of the parties allegedly involved. However, we would like to remind the public that we do not release the names of any suspect until charges have been laid.
“In cases where the accused is under the age of 18, the identity of the accused is not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act,” he added.
A source said 16-year-old Bieber hit the boy to defend himself after being called “faggot”.
Bieber was reportedly targeted by the boy repeatedly, and when he became frustrated, he told him - “That’s enough.”
This apparently led to a heated argument. Hours after the alleged incident, the boy’s father filed the complaint.
