Eros strikes Rs.64 crore broadcast deal with Zee Network

MUMBAI - Eros International Media has inked a Rs.64 crore deal for exclusively broadcasting some of its movies on the Zee TV network.
The films that would exclusively be broadcast on Zee are Akshay Kumar-John Abraham starrer “Desi Boyz”, Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor’s “Agent Vinod” and comic caper “No Problem”, among others.
Eros has also signed a similar deal with Star Network.
Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra’s recently released “Anjaana Anjaani”, Shah Rukh Khan’s sci-fi thriller “Ra.One”, Imtiaz Ali’s “Rockstar”, which stars Ranbir in the lead, have been licensed for broadcast on the Star Network.
Eros had a deal with T-Series as well for music rights where the two companies joined hands for a select slate of films, “Anjaana Anjaani” being the first to be released under that initiative.
Cumulatively, Eros has struck a Rs.240 crore deal which includes TV and music rights.
“It gives us immense pleasure to be associated with leading players in the Indian media domain. We have a well diversified business model which enables us to minimise risk through exploitation of growth opportunities provided through multiple sources of media platforms,” Eros International Media Managing Director Sunil Lulla said in a statement.
“Hence we aim at tapping the opportunities offered in television and music syndication through licensing and pre-selling our strong catalogue, thus contributing towards our performance.
“This pro-active marketing strategy will be beneficial for the channels to further strengthen their viewership and at the same time ensure successful monetisation of content for us, thus making it a win-win situation for all,” Lulla added.
