\’Galli Galli…\’ new season aims to teach kids about teamwork

NEW DELHI - \”Galli Galli Sim Sim\”, the Indian version of the internationally acclaimed popular children series \”Sesame Street\”, is back with a new season and this time it will focus on socio-emotional development of kids.
\”\’Sesame…\’ has always tried to instil good qualities in children through positive role modelling. This new season will also see muppets interacting with each other to resolve problems and resonate feelings of joy and happiness and help children understand the importance of relationships, Sashwati Banerjee, executive director, Sesame Workshop India, told IANS.
The stories and adventures in the new season aim at making children conscious of the environment and their habitat and health as well as teamwork.
The new season of \’Galli Galli Sim Sim\’ has been divided into three segments. The first segment will be \’Gali Ki Duniya\’, which willl not only focus on building cognitive skills of children, but also their socio-emotional development.
The children will get to learn about how to take care of others, they\’ll learn about the importance of emotions, caring about environment, health and hygiene.
The second segment will be Word of Day. Vocabulary plays an important part in life. Every day children will be exposed to new words that will help them improve their vocabulary. The third segment will expose children to the rich cultural diversity of India, she added.
