Three Musketeers Set For Big Screen Return

French heroes THE THREE MUSKETEERS are set to gallop back into cinemas for a new all-action adventure.
Sherlock Holmes producer Lionel Wigram has signed screenwriter Peter Straughan to update the 17th century epic.
Cast details have not been announced, but the most recent big screen Musketeers saw Charlie Sheen, Oliver Platt and Kiefer Sutherland suit up as Aramis, Porthos and Athos.
Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson is also working on a new Three Musketeers movie - his project will be a 3D version of the Alexandre Dumas novel.
Meanwhile, the origins of the tale have come under scrutiny in recent days after Dumas expert Claude Schopp came forward with claims the popular novel was largely written by Dumas’ assistant.
The scholar alleges Auguste Jules Maquet came up with the plot for the historical tale.
