‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ tops US box office

LOS ANGELES - Filmmaker Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” has topped the North American box office with an estimated $19 million earnings on its first weekend.
The film starring Michael Douglas, Shia Labeouf and Josh Broslin became the best opener for the director as the film beats the collection of his 2006 movie “World Trade Center”, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Director Zack Snyder’s “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” came second with approximately $16.3 million earnings.
Last week’s top moive “The Town” dropped ot the third place this week with an estimated $16 million earnings. Teen comedy “Easy A” is on number four with an approximately $10.1 million collection.
Another drama comedy “You Again” is not as successful as “Easy A”. Supported with all-star female cast like Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White, the women-at-war themed film is on number five with an estimated $8.3 million.
