MUMBAI (GaeaTimes.com) — After last week’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Aisha would be more of a light hearted masala puffed flick. This could set a new genre of romantic movies in Bollywood. It holds utter simplicity for you. Unlike the most popular love stories in Bollywood this stuff is not much about “emotional atyachaar”. The movie is a real inspiration for the youngsters who can now eye on a sweet and simple example of love. With no major competitors the Sonam- Abhay duo is supposed to do real good this week.
Those of you who don’t know about the facts behind the story this is for you. Aisha isn’t virgin territory. Reportedly, it is an adaptation of a Jane Austen novel ‘Emma’. But, Aisha, is more akin to Clueless Hollywood’s own version of Austen’s Emma that found cult following in the nineties and catapulted its lead Alicia Silverstone to stardom.
One of the most well-planned movies ever you can just figure out that from there website. Now, both Abhay Deol and Sonam are critically acclaimed for their recent performances. Infact their chemistry in this movie was way too beyond reel life and looked completely real.
Add to the fact that the film has an unusual combination of composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Javed Akhtar and you know for sure that there is something really exciting round the corner. The only retarding part is that like all other bollywood flicks this one also stretches past 2 hours and some parts can be really boring.
The plot is revolves around the life and times of a girl who is all there for her friends and family. The usual concept of marriages being made in heaven adds flavor to the plot in a new way.
Other characters include her best friend Pinky [Ira Dubey], the small-town girl Shefali [Amrita Puri], the West Delhi boy Randhir [Cyrus Sahukar] and the hunk Dhruv [Arunoday Singh]. Aisha always make sure everyone dances to her tune. And all Arjun [Abhay Deol] wants to do is disentangle that web and get Aisha out of an impending sticky mess.
Though the overall rating to the movie is around 2.5 - 3.5 out of 5, you can go for the movie this weekend, just for the sake of change. C’mon this one is different.
