LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- There are many instances of successful Hollywood movies adapted for games by the top console makers. The reverse is also true. The Resident Evil game series inspired the making of the movie franchisee which proved to be immensely successful. However, this is not a foolproof formula as such. Avatar which is possibly the biggest grosser among all Hollywood movies was adapted into a game which literally bit the dust. It remains to be seen what happens to the games that are going to be adapted from the upcoming film Thor. The film which is said to be converted to 3D before its release in May next year stars the hunky actor Chris Hemsworth along with Natalie Portman. The images of the actor are now out in the web. However, Sega has bought the rights for making the game.

Disney bought Marvel Entertainment but not before Sega acquired the rights for 4 of its superhero franchises namely Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. The Iron Man and Hulk games have not tasted success and it is not clear what will be the fate of Thor. The game will be released next year as Sega has confirmed.

The readers of the Marvel comics have reasons to rejoice as the upcoming game Thor will be released for a number of popular consoles including the Xbox 360, Wii, Sony PS3, Nintendo DS etc. The Xbox and PS3 versions are likely to have more oomph and visual effects compared to the others. Sega has not said anything on the voiceovers to be used in the game till now.
