MUMBAI - Bubbly actress Delnaz Paul, who is playing Kareena Kapoor’s close friend in the forthcoming movie “Milenge Milenge”, says during shooting the two clicked instantly and had a great time.

“Working with Kareena is one of my most cherished memories. She has been a darling. Sometimes you just click with certain people instantly and that’s what happened between Kareena and me,” Delnaz told IANS in an interview.

“We talked about everything, from both of us being Virgos to food and shopping. We bonded over everything. She is very supportive. You’ll see that our on-screen chemistry is great and that is only because of our off-screen chemistry,” she added.

Delnaz, who has acted in serials like “Yes Boss” and “Baltiwalla House No. 43″, became famous with her role as Sweetu in hit film “Kal Ho Naa Ho” (2003).

In “Milenge Milenge”, she is playing the role of Honey, which she calls an extension of Sweetu. “My character in the film is that of a very close friend of Kareena. She is a chirpy, vivacious person, an extension of Sweetu.

“She is Kareena’s support system in the film. She is her friend, philosopher, guide and someone who brings the lighter moments in the film,” informed Delnaz.

The film, slated for release July 9, also stars Shahid Kapoor and is directed by Satish Kaushik. The film is releasing five years after getting into production.

When asked whether she was still in touch with Kareena, Delnaz responded: “We have not been in constant touch after the shoot got over. But I did meet her eight or nine months ago at an awards function.

“The media was hounding her at the event. Suddenly she saw my husband Rajeev at a distance and shouted, ‘Rajeev, where is Delu?’ I felt really nice that day because I realised that she is such a grounded person,” Delnaz says with admiration.

And what about Shahid, who is also a part of the film?

“Shahid is a great person and a very meticulous actor. He is always ready to improve his performance. After every shot, he used to go and watch his performance on the screen so he could improve wherever required,” she said.

“In that sense, Kareena is more spontaneous, she is a livewire,” Delnaz added.
