Clooney Has Close Call With Exploding Firework In Italy

GEORGE CLOONEY’s American Independence Day celebrations almost ended in tragedy on Sunday (04Jul10) when a firework exploded metres away from his boat at his Italian retreat on Lake Como.
The Hollywood star was watching the light show from the water with a group of friends, including his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis and actress Uma Thurman.
But photos posted on TMZ.com show Clooney and his pals scrambling for safety as one firework explodes close to their vessel, rocking the boat.
As WENN went to press, it was unclear if anyone was injured in the incident.
