Longtime Hollywood agent Ed Limato dies at 73

LOS ANGELES — Ed Limato, a longtime Hollywood agent known for overseeing the careers of actors like Marlon Brando, Denzel Washington and Richard Gere, has died. He was 73.

Limato died Saturday of lung disease at his home in Beverly Hills, according to Sarah Ceglarski of the William Morris Endeavor Entertainment agency.

Limato spent most of his 44-year career at William Morris and International Creative Management, boasting an A-list client roster that also included Kevin Costner, Billy Crystal, Mel Gibson and Sharon Stone.

For many years Limato also was known for hosting an A-list party the Friday night before the Academy Awards.

He is survived by his 99-year-old mother, Angelina; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Angela.
