Andrew Garfield to play Peter Parker in ‘Spider Man’

LONDON - Actor Andrew Garfield is set to play teenage Peter Parker in the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot that will focus on the superhero’s college life.
“Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker,” said Webb.
Garfield, who won the British Academy Television Award (BAFTA) for best actor for the 2007 movie “Boy A”, has teamed up with by Mark Webb for the movie. In the first three films Tobey Maguire had portrayed Parker, reports digitalspy.co.uk.
The upcoming untitled “Spider-Man” reboot will be shot in 3D starting early December this year. It is scheduled for a July 3, 2012 release.

We believe we have found the perfect choice to take on this role and lead us into the future,” said producer Avi Arad.
