Former GREY’S ANATOMY star T.R. KNIGHT is returning to Broadway - he will join SIR PATRICK STEWART in a revival of DAVID MAMET play A LIFE IN THE THEATER.
Knight was set to hit the New York stage earlier this year (10) in a production of Lend Me A Tenor, but he reportedly dropped out of the musical days before the official casting announcement in December (09) and was replaced by The Hangover star Justin Bartha.
But the actor has now signed up to star opposite Stewart in A Life In The Theater, which is expected to begin previews in August (10) before its official opening in September (10).
The opening marks the first time the play, about the relationship between a budding actor (Knight) and his mentor (Stewart), has appeared on Broadway.
Knight has previously starred in Broadway productions of Noises Off in 2001, and Tartuffe in 2003.
