RUSSELL CROWE has been immortalised in a new series of Australian stamps to celebrate his upcoming portrayal of British folk hero ROBIN HOOD.
The Oscar-winner plays the Sherwood Forest legend in the latest Hollywood re-imagining of the classic tale, and has been honoured by his adopted country in a set of postal stamps featuring Crowe in the guise of his on-screen character.
One of the issued stamps shows the Beautiful Mind star walking through a forest while another shows him firing an arrow.
A spokesperson for Australia Post says, “The release of the film Robin Hood this month is of global interest, and we thought it would be very fitting to pay tribute to this great actor by producing the Robin Hood stamp pack in recognition of his talent and contribution to the film industry.”
It’s not the first time Crowe has adorned mail Down Under - last year (09) he was one of the stars featured in Australia’s Legends of the Screen stamp series alongside his Robin Hood co-star Cate Blanchett.
