April 29, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Followed by the grand success of ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’, director P. Vasu is all set to kick-start the filming of Telugu version. The film was recently launched at Rama Naidu Studios in Hyderabad with Tollywood’s top-charting filmmaker, Puri Jaganath, giving the first clap.

Chocolate boy Venkatesh takes on the lead role performed by late actor Vishnuvardhan in the original version. The producers had plans about titling the film, ‘Panchamukhi’ (A girl with five faces), and later ‘Nagavalli’. Nonetheless, the official confirmations about the title will be revealed shortly.

The film is produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under the banner name of Sri Sai Ganesh Productions (which earlier remade several Tamil blockbusters including ‘Nadodigal’ and ‘Autograph’ with Ravi Teja in lead roles). Guru Kiran will be tuning melodies with Shyam K Naidu as the cinematographer. Four of the happening hotties of South Indian film industry – Anushka Shetty, Kamalini Mukherji, Richa Gangopadhyay, and Poonam Kaur, have been offered the female lead roles. Earlier, Bollywood’s Anushka Sharma, who made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, was supposed to be signed for this supernatural thriller. Since, the B-town girl was busy with other projects; the producers had no other options than roping Anushka Shetty as they were spellbound with her remarkable performance in ‘Arundhathi’.

Soon after this film, P. Vasu is planning to remake ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’ in Tamil as well.
