Smith’s Lawyers Revive Estate Cash Battle

Lawyers representing ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s estate have revived the battle for her dead husband’s fortune - just weeks after a U.S. court ruled against the late star’s claim.

Before she died in 2007, Smith demanded more than $300 million (£188 million) from oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall’s estate, maintaining he promised her the cash during their 14-month marriage, which ended with the 89-year-old’s death in 1995.

The long-running legal battle seemingly came to an end last month (Mar10), when federal court judges ruled that Smith’s estate should not get a pay out.

But Smith’s attorneys have refused to back down - they’ve filed papers at the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in California demanding the judges reverse the ruling or they will take the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The legal documents, obtained by TMZ.com, outline a separate case in which the same judges made a similar decision several years ago, only to have their ruling overturned by the Supreme Court.
