Alonso Writes Open Letter To Penn

Actress MARIA CONCHITA ALONSO has fuelled her dispute with SEAN PENN by writing him an open letter condemning his public support for controversial Venezuelan President HUGO CHAVEZ.

Penn has voiced his admiration for Chavez on numerous occasions - the actor visited the politician in 2007 when he was writing an article about the leader, and caught up with him again in 2008.

In a 2007 interview following his first trip to the South American country, Penn said: “The first thing I’m going to say is that we know more lies about him in the United States than we know truth. If you want a soundbite from me about Chavez, then I would say that, for the moment, he’s much more positive for Venezuela than he is negative.”

But Venezuelan native Alonso, who appeared alongside Penn in 1988’s Colors, has challenged his political views in a new missive which she hopes will “set the record straight for you regarding the Chavez regime”.

She writes, “Why do you validate a government that has converted Venezuela into the second most dangerous country in the world, where impunity is above 90 per cent and its people live in a constant state of stress and fear of getting killed?

“My intention isn’t to convince you, but to let you know what is truly happening in this beautiful country of noble people, Venezuela. I would encourage you to investigate in depth the ‘inside story’ and realize for yourself the dark side behind the person you choose to idolize.

“Agreed, Chavez did win his first elections, but like Hitler, he betrayed what the country gave him: The vote of confidence.”

Maria Conchita Alonso has to answer why she is supporting the criminal action of his brother, owner of Daktari farm, close to Caracas, where 120 Colombian paramilitaries were trained to killed Venezuelan people in 2004. The very same people that is under treat because people like her fuel the impunity. She is advocating for less impunity, well, why she avoid stand in the same side of the law and allow its rule. Impunity is what she claimed it’s the suffering of many people, but is the very same thing she defends. That is why people seek to see her brother on judicial trial and not living a blessed live in Miami, playing a role model for other criminals. Such offenders disguised themselves as politically prosecuted by Chavez, when in reality they are just naked criminals.

Good morning, I just want to let you know that Ms. Alonso is not Venezuelan native, thank God!! It seems to me that she was born in Cuba but she lived a long time in our beautiful Venezuela, time enough to realize what kind of person she is. Mr. Penn, please continue to dedicate more time to good activities, don’t waste it with this trouble maker. I’ll use the same she wrote against our brave president: realize for yourself the dark side behind Ms. ALONSO and her family in Caracas. By the way, as a smart and tricky person she used to be, she could be trying to be back in media headlines because of you popularity. Take care. God bless you and happy Easter!
