Freeman Lands Cinematographers Honour

MORGAN FREEMAN is set to follow in the footsteps of stars including STEVEN SPIELBERG and MARTIN SCORSESE after landing a coveted prize from the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC).
The veteran actor will be handed the Board of Governors Award for “significant contributions to advancing the art of filmmaking” at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday (27Feb10).
ASC president Michael Goi tells Variety.com, “Morgan Freeman is a consummate actor and producer who devotes his considerable talent and influence to projects that make a difference.”
Previous recipients of the honour include Spielberg, Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Gregory Peck, and Robert Altman.
