LONDON - Late actress Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack has revealed he is “ridiculously upset” by the coroner’s findings over her death.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter ruled out foul play, concluding Murphy primarily died of pneumonia, with anaemia and multiple drug intoxication as contributing factors.

Winter further said the death could have been prevented had the Clueless star seen a doctor instead of relying on self-medication.

“This death could have been preventable. Murphy was planning on seeing a doctor, but she unfortunately passed away before she did. This was a case of a person with pneumonia who was anaemic who was taking medication when she should have been getting medical treatment,” the Telegraph quoted Winter as saying.

But Monjack told People magazine his wife was “not that ill” on the day she died.

“She wasn’t coughing up. I’ve had pneumonia and coughed up handfuls of spittle. So yeah, everything surprised us,” he said of the coroner’s findings.

Murphy died aged 32 on December 20 last year after collapsing at her Hollywood home. (ANI)
