Murphy’s Half-brother Insists Tragic Star Was A ‘hollywood Casualty’

BRITTANY MURPHY’s half-brother has blamed Hollywood for the death of his sister - branding her “a casualty of that town”.
The Clueless star was found unconscious in the bathroom of her Hollywood Hills home by her mother, Sharon, on Sunday (20Dec09). She was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Although reports suggest she was ill on the morning of her passing, a coroner has ruled she died from natural causes. Officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests early next year (10).
But Murphy’s estranged half-sibling Jeff Bertolotti, her father Angelo’s son, has slammed the Hollywood lifestyle and has taken aim at her inner circle for locking him out of her life - insisting the “Hollywood walls went up” after 2001.
He tells People.com, “People come into the town with their dreams and get chewed up alive and those who make it get chewed up alive anyway. And that’s what happened to Brittany. She’s a casualty of that town.
“I’m not saying it’s their (her friends’) fault, but I do think they should have taken care of her better. I think she should have been cared for.
“Look, if she died at 32, something is not right. What happened? I don’t get it. At 32 years old something happened. I don’t know what. I’m sure there was no foul play. It’s just that something is wrong… It’s heartbreaking. I was crazy about that kid.”
