Haryana International Film Festival to screen 70 films

YAMUNANAGAR - The second edition of Haryana International Film Festival will see the screening of 70 films from 20 countries under 20 sections, officials said Sunday.

“This festival will commence in the campus of DAV Girls College Dec 24 and union Housing and Tourism Minister Kumari Selja will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony,” said Ajit Rai, director of this film festival, here Sunday.

“Besides the film screenings, there would be a five-day long film appreciation course in which nearly 250 students from different universities of North India will participate. There would be special programme on Haryanvi and Punjabi cinema on Dec 27 and 28 respectively, Rai added.

Besides Indian films, movies from countries like Iran, Pakistan, China and Hong Kong will be screened during the festival. A separate section on NRI films will be held, in which the films of famous directors such as Meera Nair, Gurinder Chaddha and Nikhil Kaushik will be shown.
