Bridges Thrilled With Golden Globe Nod

JEFF BRIDGES is already a winner after landing a Golden Globe Best Actor nomination on Tuesday (15Dec09) - because the nod will help boost his low-budget movie, CRAZY HEART.
The actor has become an Oscar favourite in recent weeks thanks to the acclaim he’s getting for his portrayal of a washed-up, alcoholic country singer - and he feels sure the buzz is helping to get film fans into cinemas.
He says, “These nominations are essential for a movie like Crazy Heart - to bring it to people’s attention when you can’t really afford ads and commercials and that sort of thing. These let people know it’s a good movie and they should come check it out.”
Bridges is looking forward to the Golden Globes in January (10), where he’ll compete for a prize with George Clooney, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman and Tobey Maguire: “It will be fun to hang together.”
