Lowe Won’t Laugh On Set

Working with funnyman RICKY GERVAIS in new comedy THE INVENTION OF LYING was “frustrating” for professional ROB LOWE - because the Brit kept ruining scenes by giggling through them.
The former The West Wing star insists his director and co-star couldn’t keep a straight face for some comic moments.
He says, “He would laugh in the middle of takes and ruin everything… so that was frustrating.”
Lowe, on the other hand, insists he has never “ruined a take” by laughing - even though many stars have tried to break his cool.
He says, “That’s just a badge of honour. I come from the old school; I was a child actor (and) you’re not supposed to break up on stage.
“People over the years have tried (to make me laugh) - Mike Myers in Wayne’s World was probably the first, Dana Carvey, Chris Farley… Never once.”
