Streisand sprains thumbs giving De Niro massage in film scene

LONDON - American singer/actress Barbra Streisand has revealed that she sprained both her thumbs while giving actor Robert De Niro a massage, during the filming of a scene for ‘Meet The Fockers’.
Streisand, 67, who played the part of a free-spirited sex therapist in the 2004 comedy, sprained her thumbs when De Niro asked her to forcefully knead his torso.
“That was an idea I had, I thought I should have a scene with De Niro, so they wrote that in at the last minute,” the Daily Express quoted her as having told U.K. TV talk show host Jonathan Ross.
“He kept saying, ‘Do it harder, harder!’ I’m not a real masseuse! I’ll tell you the truth - I sprained both thumbs. I had to have cortisone shots (in my fingers).
“I got twitches and I couldn’t move them. That’s method acting!” she added. (ANI)
