Hunt To Replace Tierney In Parenthood

HELEN HUNT is eyeing a role in upcoming TV series PARENTHOOD after actress MAURA TIERNEY pulled out of the project to focus on her cancer battle.

The star has been approached by bosses at U.S. network NBC to take over the part Tierney played in the pilot episode of the upcoming drama series.

Production on the show was halted in July (09) to allow Tierney to undergo a “medical evaluation” after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but she ruled out a return to
work earlier this month (Sep09).

Hunt, whose career skyrocketed on the back of the U.S. sitcom Mad About You, will play a sibling in a family of four adults if she signs up for the TV adaptation of Ron
Howard’s 1989 movie.
