CHRIS BROWN is eager to start attending sessions for anger management counselling, so he can learn how to deal with his emotions.

The R&B singer was convicted of brutally abusing ex-girlfriend Rihanna during a bust-up in February (09), and, as part of his sentence, Brown was ordered to undergo counselling.

He’s welcoming the opportunity to talk through his problems with a professional.

He tells People magazine, “I want to understand my feelings. I just need to talk to someone. I wanted to understand the problem at hand.”

Brown is confident counselling will prevent him from lashing out at anyone in the future, although he’s not convinced he has an “anger problem”.

He adds, “I don’t think I’d get that mad again. (I’d) walk away. This has matured me.

“If I do (have an anger problem), I will work with my counsellor and hopefully channel my anger into something like dancing.”

The 20 year old was also sentenced to five years’ probation, a restraining order against Rihanna for the duration of his punishment, and ordered to complete six weeks of hard labour in his native Virginia.
