LONDON - Michael Jackson’s 3D avatar will make it to the silver screen after a Los Angeles judge permitted Sony Pictures to make a film on his last days.
The pop star’s footage that shows him rehearsing for his comeback This Is It concert series at the O2 in London will be used to make the movie.
The budget of the film is expected to be about 60 million US dollars and it is speculated that Kenny Ortega, the director of High School Musical and Jackson’s “creative partner” on the scheduled O2 concerts, will direct the movie.
“[The film] will show Michael as one of the greatest entertainers in the world and one of the industry’s most creative minds,” Timesonline quoted Ortega as saying.
“This Is It was Michael’s last theatrical work and although it was still a work in progress, I think the footage will show that the process was something that Michael deeply enjoyed and that it was clear that he was on his way to another theatrical triumph,” he added.
The movie is slated to be release across cinemas in the US on October 30. The date of its release in Britain is not known. in the United States. (ANI)
