MELBOURNE - American actress Katherine Heigl feels that reaching 30 years of age has helped her to deal with people in her life more maturely.

The Ugly Truth star said that she was “more clueless” about relationships in her 20s.

“But as I’ve gotten older, I think some of it is just being aware and instinctual. I think women know when we’ve gone too far or when we’re being desperate,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

“I went through that whole ‘manipulate them with the physical appearance’ thing - put on a short skirt and high, high heels, wear a push-up bra and show some cleavage.

“It works like a charm every time, but how long do I really want to keep that charade up?

“I got really sick of it and said: ‘Here’s who I am. Take it or leave it,”" she added.

Heigl said she had a list of qualities she was looking for in a man, but husband Josh Kelley brought with him loads of traits she had forgotten to include.

“I forgot about confidence,” she says. “I forgot about sense of humour, which is just crazy.

“I forgot about passion for your thing, whatever it is your dream about and that inspires you.

“Josh has all those things in spades, and he has a really good heart, I’d put that on my list.

“I tell you, there’s nothing sexier than a confident man. Josh always walks into any situation knowing he can handle it, and that blows my mind.

“I walk into every situation nervous, but when he’s by my side it rubs off a little and I start to feel emboldened.

It’s so great to have this partner by my side who I can trust and I can believe in and who’s got my back,” she added. (ANI)
