‘Jashnn’ similar to my life story: Adhyayan Suman

Adhyayan SumanNEW DELHI - Adhyayan Suman, son of actor Shekhar Suman, says the story of his third film “Jashnn” has a lot of similarities to his own life - as a budding actor and choosing career over love.

” ‘Jashnn’ in many ways is similar to my life story. The first similarity is that the protagonist of the film has aspirations of becoming a rockstar and I too had aspirations of becoming an actor. He struggles to get to a position in his life, I too am struggling for a successful career,” Adhyayan told IANS.

“Like he had to focus on his career putting aside his love, I too had to take a decision because my love life was creating problems in my career. So in a lot of other ways too the story of the film is similar to my life,” he said.

The 21-year-old actor was dating actress Kangana Ranaut, but they recently called off their relationship.

Adhyayan made his debut in Bollywood with “Haal-e-dil” in 2008 but was noticed in his second film “Raaz - The Mystery Continues”, which also starred Emraan Hashmi and Kangana.

The young actor said entering Bollywood wasn’t a cakewalk for him even though his father is a known actor.

“Even though I’m Shekhar Suman’s son, as an individual I’m nobody. It wasn’t easy for me at all to enter the film industry just because my father has been in the industry for so long.

“Unless you are promising and have talent no one will put money on you and that goes for everyone. So, I too had to struggle,” Adhyayan said.

He admits that he takes his dad’s advice but Suman Senior lets him make his own choices.

“I always sit with dad with my scripts because I want to get his view…But he always tells me to take my own decisions and do what I feel is better for me. He never interferes,” the actor said.

“He is the best father anyone can have and I’m lucky to be his son,” he added.

His forthcoming “Jashnn” also has Shahana Goswami and Anjana Sukhani in key roles.

Asked about his camaraderie with his two co-stars, Adhyayan said: “It was great working with Shahana. She is more of a boy and I consider her like one of my male friends. I’m quite close to her and share my innermost feelings with her. I must say she is one of the finest talents in the industry.”

He added: “As far as Anjana is concerned, she is very underestimated as an actress. She has emerged as an underdog in the film. With this role she has proved her mettle and has come out with flying colours.”

After “Jashnn”, Adhyayan has his hands full with “Dekh Bhai Dekh”, the film adaptation of a popular soap series that starred his father, an untitled project by Mahesh Bhatt and two more big banner films that he can’t talk about right now.
