Jack Nicholson in talks to star in James L. Brooks’ movie alongside Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson

WASHINGTON - American actor Jack Nicholson is said to be in talks to star in director James L. Brooks’ untitled romantic comedy at Columbia Pictures. Nicholson, 72, will be cast alongside Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson, reports Variety magazine. The role had first been offered to Bill Murray, and he had been in talks to portray the blueblood father of Rudd’s character. owever, since the deal never went through, Murray’s interest in the project waned and he fell out of touch.
Now with the production scheduled to start in less than two weeks, Brooks is said to have reached out to Nicholson.
Brooks will be producing alongside Paula Weinstein, Laurence Mark and Gracie Films prexy Julie Ansell.
The story is based on a love triangle, with Rudd playing a white-collar executive vying for Witherspoon’s affections, and Wilson portraying a professional baseball pitcher who is also a love interest. (ANI)
