LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- All the ardent followers of the hit ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” had been eagerly waiting for the network’s latest offering “Off The Map” which made its debut last night. The expectation of the viewers was immensely high from the new ABC show as it has been created by Shonda Rhimes who is known to have produced the popular series, “Grey’s Anatomy” as well as “Private Practice.” The new show that premiered on ABC on Wednesday night has elements similar to the other two series as it focuses on the lives of six doctors as they embark on a mission to find the reason which actually propelled them to take up medicine as a profession.

The first episode of “Off The Map” that was aired last night was titled “Saved by the Great White Hope” in which the viewers were introduced to the main characters who are looking forward to giving their lives a new dimension by working at a village in Amazon in a bid to help others. Although the premise of the show bears resemblance to the two other medical dramas produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, the makers of the show have reiterated that in the new ABC series, the viewers would get the chance to witness a lot of adventure unlike those seen in the other two shows.

In the pilot episode of “Off The Map,” Dr. Lily Brenner who is accompanied with fellow doctors Mina Minard and Tommy Fuller arrive in a medical clinic at a remote South American village. In the upcoming episodes, the viewers would witness their journey as they try to help the natives while fighting their own demons.
