LONDON - Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum sold stationery over the phone before he ventured into acting.

The “Jurassic Park” star had only one job other than acting, where he spent a week working in stationery telesales. He hated it so much that he is convinced it made him unwell, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“I worked one week selling pens and pencils over the phone - that was the only other job I’ve done. It was horrible. My heart wasn’t in it, and then I got sick, which probably wasn’t unrelated,” he said.

The 57-year-old star rose to fame as a movie star in the 1970s and 1980s but in recent years, he has been appearing in American police drama show “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, where he portrays Detective Zach Nichols.

Despite his film background, Jeff doesn’t mind pursuing a TV career and is pleased with his achievements.

“To be honest, my days are not spent going ‘Why didn’t I get it? I want that part.’ There are people who go ‘I have $700 million, but so-and-so has $900 million. Why have you done this to me God, why am I so miserably second rate?’” he said.
