American songwriter VIC MIZZY has died, aged 93.

The musician, who worked with Sam Raimi on the outtake music for Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday (17Oct09), according to his manager Jonathan Wolfson. His cause of death is unknown as WENN goes to press.

Mizzy started his career writing for artists including Doris Day, Dean Martin, Billie Holiday and Perry Como in the 1940s and 50s.

The composer created the catchy theme tune to The Addams Family TV show and had previously said he didn’t mind if he would only be remembered for the finger snaps at the beginning of the spooky series.

He said, “Two snaps got me a mansion in Bel Air.”

The writer is survived by two children.
