‘The King’s Speech ‘ wins best film

LOS ANGELES - Tom Hooper’s “The King’s Speech” bagged the title for best film at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards here Sunday. The award was presented by Steven Spielberg.

“The King’s Speech” was competing with Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan”, David O. Russell’s “The Fighter”, Christopher Nolan’s “Inception”, Lisa Cholodenko “The Kids Are All Right”, Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours”, David Fincher’s “The Social Network”, Lee Unkrich.’s “Toy Story 3″, Joel Coen and Ethan Coen’s “True Grit” and Debra Granik’s “Winter’s Bone”.

The film had 12 Oscar nominations this year.
