NEW DELHI - Actress Kratika Sengar, who plays title role in Zee TV’s historical series “Jhansi Ki Rani”, fell unconscious while shooting for an underground sequence in a tunnel.

The actress was shooting for an elaborate underground sequence when the heat and humidity inside the tunnel took a toll on her and she fainted. The doctor on the set rushed in immediately and later Kratika was taken to a nearby clinic where she was put on complete bed-rest for a day.

I have been shooting non-stop for 14-16 hours a day for the past few months and this has taken a toll on my health. Shooting inside a tunnel involves intricate lighting and we had to take several re-takes for the perfect shot. I was feeling a little giddy but did not take it to be an ominous sign and continued with the shoot,” said Kratika, adding she is fine now.

Avinash Sachdev gave up IAS dream to be actor

He was preparing for IAS exams, but acting bug bit Avinash Sachdev, popularly known as Dev of Zee TV’s show “Chhoti Bahu”, so hard that he dropped the idea and wore grease paint to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.

“I was studying for my IAS when I realised that I have to take up acting. It was difficult for my parents to digest since I am the only child. It took me 10 months to convince them and finally they allowed me to do it,” Avinash told IANS.

“When I arrived here (in Mumbai), I didn’t even know where would I live. I consider myself lucky to have finally found a platform. I believe I have been at a perfect place at a perfect time,” he added.

The 24-year-old made his television debut in 2008 with Balaji Telefilms’ “Khwaish”. However, it was his stint in “Chhoti Bahu” that made him a household name. The second season of the show with a fresh storyline is set to hit screens Feb 15.

The actor is in no rush to make money and wants to do quality work.

“I want to do quality work instead of quantity. I want to really wait and wait for chances that are coming in life, absorb them and take them in a good way. It’s not all about making money I want to do quality work,” he said.
