LONDON - Hollywood funnyman Jim Carrey has finally accepted an invite to appear on American chat show “Inside The Actors Studio” after pal Bradley Cooper told him to stop snubbing the programme.
Many acting greats have appeared on James Lipton’s studious show since it launched in 1994. The host has made no secret of the fact that one of the names at the top of his original wish-list was that of Carrey who he has pursued for 17 years, reports ew.com.
“His was one of the first invitations I ever sent out, but Jim’s extremely shy. It was a marathon getting him on. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to do it, he just didn’t have the courage,” said Lipton.
But after Cooper taped the show and heard that Lipton had been inviting Carrey to join him for years, “The Hangover” star decided to intervene before the legendary interviewer bumped into Carrey when the actor was shooting new movie “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” in New York.
Cooper’s encouragement and the chance meeting eventually persuaded Carrey to sign on for the revealing show, which was taped recently and airs in America Monday.
