NEW YORK - The co-founder and namesake of Kate Spade New York has chosen ‘Twilight’ star Bryce Dallas Howard to be the face of her designer brand.
This is the first time that Spade, 48, has chosen a celebrity as a spokesperson in the brand’s 18 years.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Howard, 29, will be hawking the brand’s bags, raincoats, shoes and accessories starting in the spring.
Howard adores the brand and its colourful boxy bags and ladylike fashions and retro-inspired shoes.
“The Kate Spade offer came up and I kind of lost my mind,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.
“There’s something about that brand that, from a young age, I really, really, really connected with.
“It was always the thing I wanted for Christmas…since I was 15 or 16,” she stated.
Deborah LLoyd, president and chief creative officer of Kate Spade, is very taken with the actress.
“She’s not just a pretty face. She’s a multitalented woman, who represented the brand very well,” she added. (ANI)
