MELBOURNE - Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays a Viagra-selling character in his upcoming flick ‘Love and Other Drugs’, feels that it is difficult to get information about Viagra than the CIA.
According to Gyllenhaal, the pharmaceutical world is harder to infiltrate than the CIA.
The Hollywood hearthrob plays a lady-killing Viagra salesman in his latest film, ‘Love and Other Drugs’, in which he stars opposite Anne Hathaway.
The actor said he had spoken to as many pharmaceutical reps as he could while researching the film.
“It’s very hard actually to get into that world-much more difficult than even .. I’ve played a CIA agent in a movie, and it’s harder to get information about that (the pharmaceutical world) than that,” the Daily Telegraph quoted him as telling at the Sydney Theatre Company press conference.
Gyllenhaal did, however, spend many hours with Jamie Reidy upon whose book - ‘Hard Sell: the Evolution of a Viagra Salesman’ - the film is loosely based.
The actor added, in case anybody was interested, that his research didn’t extend as far as actually trying the wonder drug.
“I can safely say I have never tried Viagra,” he added. (ANI)
